Role Description
An Internationally Certified Recovery and Wellness Coach Advanced as anyone committed to promoting recovery and wellness from the relevant ICRWC-A specialty by connecting clients with recovery and wellness support services designed to build recovery and wellness capital, generate individualized recovery options and assist clients to remove barriers to recovery and wellness.

Certification & Licensure I Pre-cert
As the ICRWC-A credential is open to anyone interested in or committed to Addiction Recovery / Wellness Coaching, no certification or license is currently required.
A Degree
A degree is currently not required.
Training / Education Requirements I Training
140 hours of ICRWC-A specific training (with domain requirements)
Work Experience hours in last 5 years
1,000 hours
Distance Learning: IRWCCB Approved Distance Learning Applicable
Up to 60 hours of asynchronous / distance learning may be used
IRWCCB ICARC Standardized Testing
Passing Score on the IRWCCB ICRWC-A Exam - waived until December 2027
Coaching Practice Hours
100 hours
IRWCCB Evaluated Coaching sessions
Waived until 12/2027
Recovery and Wellness Coaching Supervision
24 hours in last year
Annual Renewal Standards
6 hours per year of Coaching Specific CPPD including a minimum of 1 hour of IRWCCB approved ethics
