Role Description
An Internationally Certified Professional Recovery and Wellness Coach as anyone committed to promoting recovery and wellness from the relevant ICRWC specialty by connecting clients with recovery and wellness support services designed to build recovery and wellness capital, generate individualized recovery options and assist clients to remove barriers to recovery and wellness.
Stage of Professional Development
Entry level - 2 - 4 years
Certification & Licensure
Applicants must have the ICRWC credential (for 1 year)
A Degree
A degree is currently not required.
Training / Education Requirements
90 hours of CPRWC specific training (with domain requirements)
Coaching practice & Work/Volunteer Experience
Please note: Applicants may apply to take the credential exam before they have completed the above work hours BUT may not take the final Oral Exam until the hours have been completed and registered with the IRWCCB
Distance Learning: IRWCCB Approved Distance Learning Applicable
Up to 60 hours of asynchronous / distance learning may be used
IRWCCB ICARC Standardized Multiple Choice Exam
Passing Score on the IRWCCB ICPRWC Exam
IRWCCB Evaluated Recovery and Wellness Coaching sessions
Passing Evaluation on the IRWCCB ICPRWC Recovery & Wellness Coaching sessions (within training program)
IRWCCB Oral Exam
Passing Evaluation by 3 nominated examiners of a live coaching session with a coach examiner client
Recovery and Wellness Coaching Supervision
Must have received a minimum of 12 hours coaching supervision within the previous 6 months prior to the application for ICPRWC credential from an IRWCCB approved coach supervisor
Annual Renewal Standards
15 hours of Coaching Specific CPPD including 1 hour of IRWCCB approved ethics
